Community associations are familiar with the challenges associated with long-term home rentals and have become well acquainted with short-term rentals over the past few years, but a new trend in the sharing economy has been making waves recently: rentals for residential components such as swimming pools.
Renewal, rebuilding, and looking to the future represent the core goals embraced by CAI’s 64 chapters. Over the past year, CAI chapters have adopted new programs and services and welcomed back members to traditional events and opportunities.
Community associations are designed to maintain common areas, preserve and protect property values, provide services for members, and develop a sense of community. Mental health issues could affect each of those responsibilities. Board members and community managers need to have a plan in place.
As we look to solve the talent shortage issue facing our industry, it is crucial that we think of new solutions. Whether that means creating more resources to help managers take on the first years on the job, or expanding our search for finding new talent, I am confident that we will be able to attract and retain people to our industry.
We need a significant shift to ensure community managers are treated with respect and courtesy. It all starts with setting reasonable boundaries for mental and physical health. Here are a few boundaries to establish to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
